The War of the Magi, 0 AM (After Magi)

In the longest, and most deadly war the world has ever seen, the espers and the humans engaged in what is now known as the war of the Magi. Cities were destroied, landscapes were changed, and the world has not been the same since the moment the espers famously came charging out of the sealed gate, preparing their attack on the evil empire of Thamasa. While the espers had expected an easy win, the Magi Knights, as well as the rest of the humans proved to be a surprising match for the espers. Their magical machines arguably had even more power than the espers themselves. For some time, it seemed as if the humans would win the war. After all, with each dying esper, the power of the humans rose, and the power of the espers sunk. Indeed, it seemed that as the war raged on, the humans just got more and more power, while the espers just continued to lose it. The humans also had the advantage of being able to contain the espers around the sealed cave. Eventually, the espers turned back, realizing the need for a solid battle plan. In order to win, the espers had to use their magic to the best of their abilities in order to rival the humans. They would also have to get aid from humans in the war. It was now clear that the espers were the underdog in the war. Yuri calculated a plan that would help the espers turn the tables on the humans, as well as improve their ground for attack from the sealed cave. Yuri's plan succeeded, and the espers blew through the defenses at the sealed cave, and spread out through the world. The espers had realized their advantage upon the humans, and began to exploit it. Being creatures of pure magic, the espers required no food. The espers ravaged the world in an effort to stop the human advance. Fields of vegetables were destroied, animals murdered, and food storages wiped out. The espers were doing everything possible to make sure the humans did not eat. In addition to that, the espers befriended a large number of Magi Knights, promising them greater power, as well as survival. In a short period, human morale decreased significantly. Without food, the humans were no longer capable of fighting with the same amount of zest and intensity. As a result, the espers eliminated almost every human member of the military without any remorse. The magi knights aided as well. In short, the humans were easily defeated by the espers, and the War of the Magi was essentially ended. The great culture of the world was gone. The floating castles, the cities, the palaces, the shrines, and a large amount of the humans were wiped from existance forever. Yuri collected all the magicite he could, hoping to revive the espers that had fallen back in the land of the espers. Yuri left the ruins of the world as a reminder for anyone that wanted to attempt to break the balance of magic again. Yuri returned to the world of espers, and ensured that the seal of the goddesses was kept tight, and that no esper or human would ever venture into the other plane again. The statues, and the warp to the world of espers was moved, and the old sealed gate was left empty.
